Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam
This complex is the oldest established shopping arcade here in Shah Alam. PKNS Complex is located at Persiaran Tasek, not very far from SIRIM building and SACC Shah Alam. It is quite a fine building, where you can find various types of shops inside like souvenirs’ shop, advertising, tailoring, web design and food lots. There are also about 14 government units such as KPDNHEP, BPR, LKIM and most of the government’s office located at level 2 and 3 because the shop lots are at level 1 and 2. It is always being the main attractor among the visitors because it locates various government units in one building.
This place is suitable to be visited by the locals and for foreigners that are into local products such as local clothing, scarf, Malay biscuits etc. Nevertheless there are also shops selling other stuff other than the local interest items. Besides that, this place also locates a clinic and more than five banks settled here at this complex. Some of the banks are Maybank Finance, Perwira Affin, Islamic Bank, Lembaga Tabung Haji and also Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN). In addition, this place also has few companies or non-government organizations which have been there for years. It can be a problem if they are being relocated if one day there’s a plan to do a major renovation at Kompleks PKNS.
Carnival sales and fairs have always being held at this place. The entire prices offer for products and sales services are reasonable. It has been the main attraction of PKNS Complex. I think the most famous would be the one held during Ramadhan until Hari Raya.
Other than that you can find interior designers here. Sometime there will be property fairs being held and some other events that will get a lot of people buzzing to Kompleks PKNS. There’s even a small shop just next to McDonald where you an get your portrait painted. And the best this is, where you are tired of shopping, you can just walk out the front door to relax at the Lake
Shah Alam Lake Garden is just opposite the road of the main entrance.
